Karez distribution topography near Sirjan, Iran

I learned about Iran's karez (qanat) by reading the article "Home of Karez" in the April issue of Geography magazine. When I was looking at opentopomap, I was surprised to see that the distribution of karez was displayed on a map, so I immediately created a 3D model with the DEM-Net Elevation API and enjoyed it.

雑誌地理4月号記事「カレーズの本場」を読んで、イランのカレーズ（カナート）について学習しました。opentopomapを眺めていると、なんとカレーズ分布が地図に表現されていて、早速DEM-Net Elevation APIで3Dモデルを作成して楽しみました。

シールジャーン付近のカレーズ分布（opentopomap）

雑誌地理4月号記事、今村遼平著「カレーズの本場」を読んで、イランのカレーズ（カナート）について学習しました。opentopomapを眺めていると、なんとカレーズ分布が青線で地図に表現されています。シールジャーン付近では密集してつくられたカレーズの様子が表現されています。早速DEM-Net Elevation APIで3Dモデルを作成してカレーズ分布事象観察を楽しみました。

3Dモデルを作成すると、カレーズは自分が想像していたよりも平坦な地形につくられています。以前モロッコでカナートを見学した時も地形があまりにも平坦で違和感をおぼえたのですが、よくあるデフォルメされたカナート断面図に自分が騙されていることにようやく気が付きました。
