The distribution of three stone products determined to be ornamental items originated from dumping (burial) at the head of the valley, which is interesting because it differs from the distribution of shell ornaments.

They are distributed on both the upstream and downstream sides of the shell layer on the northern slope, and the downstream side is an interesting area where many ritual artifacts have been found, leaving a gap.
Chiba City Ningyozuka Tomb: Model of the original shape
I have studied the restoration of the original shape of the Ningyozuka Tomb in Chiba City, and based on the results, I have created a model of the restoration. There is an artificial space on the left and an upper terrace on the right, and the shape of the tomb is not completely symmetrical. The top of the front part is higher than the top of the rear circular mound.

I visited the Kasori Shell Mound Museum special exhibition "That is E, That is E: Kasori E-type pottery, general edition" to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the excavation. The pottery exhibits, explanatory panels, and explanatory pamphlets are very comprehensive. This is a rare opportunity for me to learn about Kasori E-type pottery.
I looked back on the activities of the blog "HANAMIGAWA RYUIKI wo ARUKU" in October 2024.
My activities in October were almost entirely focused on learning about Ningyozuka Kofun in Chiba City. I used a 3D model created from a contour map of the kofun as a tool to carry out my learning. I was lucky to come across Yutaka Numazawa's research into the restoration of kofun design principles. I even reached the point of starting to consider the 3D model of the restoration.
